APOKALUPSIS

A DISCOVERY

The Greek word, APOKALUPSIS, means discovery, revelation, or even more precisely, unveiling, as in removing a veil or cover.

You have inhaled the world and exhaled truth-your breath and the breath of your experience are one. The artist knows this. He becomes his expression in paint-they are one and the same. The painting remains-is left behind- as a witness to this truth. It is the embodiment of eternity itself and all come to see it in order to have the same experience, if only for a moment, as a reminder that resonates deep inside themselves.

To stand before the masterpiece is to be drawn into the silence of one’s own being. As art holds up a mirror to Nature and is, itself, a revelation of Nature’s secrets, the individual spirit may become awakened by bringing itself into contemplative contact with its tangible expression on a canvas or in a carving of stone.
