Our Process
Throughout his career, Joseph Sulkowski has created one-of-a-kind pieces of art that have become beloved family heirlooms. He continues to do so, with a process of commissioning a work of art that is as transparent as it is rewarding.

“Art that excites me is visually beautiful and emotionally stimulating, masterfully executed, profound in its capture of essence and poetic in its expression.”

Commissioning a finished drawing or painting by Joseph Sulkowski is an easy and enjoyable process. Your specific desires for your painting are carefully discussed. Appropriate pictures are very important to Joseph. Whenever possible, he prefers to take them himself. The photographs are used as a reference point to capture the light and shadow that bring out the distinctive forms and character of the subject. A one on one experience allows the artist to get a personal feel for a place, person, dog, or horse. Any travel accommodations are covered by you the client. Often professional photographs you have had taken can be used as well.
